LINDBERG glasses

LINDBERG frames: background

In 1983 a Danish optician, Poul-Jorn Lindberg, discovered that he needed spectacles, and after a quick look around his own shop realised there was nothing he wanted to wear. He found most frames to be heavy, rigid and uncomfortable, and concluded that the ideal glasses should be as light and close to invisible as possible - neither seen nor felt.

Lindberg teamed up with another Dane, architect Hans Dissing, to develop a new concept in eyewear, and Air Titanium frames were born. Strips of titanium are simply twisted and bent into some of the lightest and most flexible frames in the world, with nosepads made from medical silicone and no screws, rivets or weld.

Iris Optical has carried LINDBERG glasses since February 2002, and its huge popularity means we keep a large range in stock. For customers in the UK, these frames are stocked in our London SE1 (Tower Bridge), London E1 (City, close to Spitalfields Market) and Richmond TW9 stores.
